Prof. Vipin Tyagi

Prof. Vipin Tyagi is a distinguished academician, researcher and author, currently serving as Dean (Academic and Research) at Jaypee University of Engineering and Technology in Guna, Madhya Pradesh. Prof. Tyagi joined JUET, Guna in July 2005. His expertise spans across Image Processing, Cyber Forensics, and Speech Recognition. He is also Director – IQAC of JUET Guna and NEP 2020 UGC University coordinator.

Starting his teaching career as a lecturer in July 1993, Prof. Tyagi joined the Mody Institute of Technology and Science, Lakshmangarh, Sikar in Rajasthan in 1999. His tenure at Mody Institute saw him become a member of the senate and the Board of Studies.

Prof. Tyagi has had a notable academic journey, completing his post-graduation in 1989 and his doctorate in 1999 under the guidance of Prof. V. K. Agarwal, Ex- Principal, D. N. College, Meerut. He has also worked on a project on Speech Recognition under the mentorship of Dr. S. S. Agarwal, Scientist G and Ex -Head CEER-Delhi Center at CEERI, Delhi.

Prof. Tyagi has a prolific publication record, contributing significantly to his fields of interest. His scholarly work includes numerous journal articles, conference papers, and books. Some of his notable publications are in the areas of image forgery detection, image denoising, and content-based image retrieval. He has authored and edited several books and papers in the field of computing and data sciences, such as “Predictive Computing and Information Security” and “Content-Based Image Retrieval: Ideas, Influences, and Current Trends” published by Springer Singapore. His scholarly work has earned him a respectable h-index and numerous citations in the academic community.

In addition to his research, Prof. Tyagi is deeply involved in teaching and mentoring students. He has guided many students through their projects and has supervised 7 Ph.D. candidates to successful completions. His commitment to education and research is further highlighted by his involvement in organizing and participating in conferences and workshops.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Prof. Tyagi has been actively involved in professional societies. Prof. Tyagi is a senior life member of the Computer Society of India, a Fellow of the IETE, Senior Member - IEEE and a member of the Indian Science Congress Association, ACM, and the Remote Sensing Society of India. He was elected as President and Recoder of Engineering Science Section of Indian Science Congress Association. He also worked as member of management committee of Computer Society of India-Bhopal Chapter, executive committee member of IETE-Bhopal center for year 2010-12. He was also MP State Student Coordinator of Computer Society of India. He has also served as Vice-President for the regions of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Gujarat and Hon. National Secretary of the Computer Society of India. He also served as Regional Coordinator of the AICTE National Coordination Committee-Induction Program (Central Region).
