Dr. Ravi Kumar
Dr. Ravi Kumar is a distinguished academic and researcher with a profound background in electronics and communication engineering. His career spans over two decades, marked by significant contributions to both academia and industry. Dr. Kumar's expertise lies in several key areas, including advanced communication systems, antenna design, and the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in engineering.
Dr. Kumar’s academic journey is built on a strong foundation of advanced studies. He earned his Ph.D. in 2013 from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Jaypee University of Engineering & Technology, Guna. His doctoral research focused on MIMO Communication Systems and Smart Antennas, a field critical to modern wireless technology. Prior to his Ph.D., he completed his M.Tech. with honors from Madhav Institute of Technology & Science, Gwalior, specializing in Microwave Engineering. He began his higher education with a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Rajiv Gandhi Technical University, Bhopal.
His professional career began with a blend of industry and research roles. Dr. Kumar served as a Lecturer at Madhav Institute of Technology & Science, Gwalior, and held a managerial position at Pentasoft Technologies Ltd., Bhopal. He also gained valuable research experience as a Project Associate at the National Physical Laboratory, New Delhi, where he worked on a project titled "Post Earthquake Rescue System and Real-time Data Acquisition." During his post-graduation, he was also invited to work on a project at the Centre for Development of Telematic (C-DOT).
Since August 2005, Dr. Kumar has been a dedicated educator at the Jaypee University of Engineering, where he has guided numerous undergraduate and graduate students in their research projects. His commitment to research is evident in his extensive publications, which include papers in respected international and national journals and conferences, many of which are indexed in SCI and Scopus. He holds 13 granted design patents and copyrights, with several more pending. His contributions to the academic community extend beyond his own research; he is a sought-after editorial board member and reviewer for prestigious journals published by IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, and Wiley.
Dr. Kumar’s excellence has been formally recognized with accolades such as the IEEE Best Paper award in 2012. He is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and a Fellow Member of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE). Currently, he serves as IEEE student branch faculty counsellor at JUET and also, he has served as a co-opted Executive Committee member of the IETE, MP subsection. His current research interests are focused on the integration of cutting-edge technologies like AI and ML into advanced communication systems, as well as the design of advanced antennas and the processing of biomedical signals and images.
